NTT DoCoMo has announced that it successfully completed tests of its Super 3G LTE network technology, with downlink speeds of 250Mbps in a real-life test area. The experimental network was setup just south of Tokyo and involved four MIMO antennas.
LTE, or Long Term Evolution, is the next step beyond the current HSDPA and HSUPA networks and offers increased transmission speeds with reduced latency. NTT DoCoMo joins Verizon Wireless and Vodafone in testing and planning the launch of this new technology.
