SpinVox, which uses speech-to-text technology for a range of services, today announced a new plug-in for Blackberries that will automatically receive incoming voicemail messages and convert them into text emails. The new plug-in makes it incredibly convenient to manage voicemail by eliminating the need to dial in to listen to voice messages. Converted voicemails are delivered to the user's inbox with 'SpinVox' in the subject line, followed by the first few words of the message.

SpinVox's services are also available for other handsets, though this is the first offering that integrates into the device to offer a more seamless experience. Users will be billed GBP 5(US$10) per year for the plug-in service, which is in addition to the normal Spinvox service fees. There is a free trial period, and interested users can visit www.SpinVox.com/Blackberry to get setup.

There is already a visual voicemail application for BlackBerry users. It's called SimulSays and it integrates with the BlackBerry's contact list and allows users to selectively retrieve voicemails. Users can scroll through and select which message to view, listen to it, read it and reply to it by phone, SMS or email. The website to try out SimulSays is www.simulsays.com
